Chiweenie Friday (6)

Hello, lovely furiends! Frankie, the chiweenie here, yes again. While Twinkie's not at all impressed by my posts, she says I can keep going. I had the most fantasticest time at the horse barn the other day, and I would love to share with you.
Finally, M decided I am old enough to start horseback riding lessons. It's going to take me a looong time before I get to be as good as Twinkie, but it's a start. You want to see a photo?

Ta-da!
Ringo, the horse, told me I did very well for a first lesson. I think he appreciated my lightness and the way I took instructions. I had no fear and that is not unpromising for my future equestrian career.

Linguini had a ball again. She ran around, played with her furiends, ate out of a bucket with anti-inflammatory meds for a horse, drank a little linseed oil, got the runs...
Mostly, Linguini likes to chill by the horses hoping for some "fresh food"

This is Holly aka Cookie, the blue heeler
Twinkie's keeping an eye on her
Holly's looking better every day

I know yesterday Twinkie called me an Omega dog and I have no problem with that. Actually, I will share with you a video that supports her case. It's okay, I'm still a baby.

Tee-hee, so I was a bit of a chicken, I get it. I had so much fun though!

After we turned out the horse, I was exhausted. Horseback riding lessons can be very taxing.
I crashed

But I wasn't the only one

See you later, furiends. Kk? Stay safe and not cold.
Frankie

  1. Frankie,

You are so lucky to get to go to that neat barn. The kiddlets are very envious of you!!! We can't believe you ride horses too!!! Next thing M will put you in the circus or a side show!

Is that horse ok? We didn't think they were suppose to be on the ground?!

  3. Frankie, I am so impressed by your riding skills! I have been trying to get my mommy to get me a mini horse but she claims it can't live in a high rise.

  4. Hi Twinkie bummer the smallest dog was running so fast I could not tell. How dare they lock up the Alpha Dog? Mom tried to join as a follow today but it looked like we had to have a facebook account which we don't...also I left a late comment on your post from yesterday...to sum it up we didn't know you and mom were a published authors. We're going to check on some of your books at Borders.

  5. PS
My assistant is brain dead today...last two nights she has been out way past her bedtime...there will be demerits for that too.
If she isn't careful she will be grounded. Each night she and the Dad have come home I have given them a stern lecture because they are messing up my schedule too.
    We are now regular followers.

  9. Wow Frankie. Great job on the horse. Even mom doesn't like to ride horses that much. Not that she doesn't like 'em.

So, Twink. You guys are gettin' paid for workin' those horses, right? I mean.. you can't be doin' that for free. That's hard work!

So how many FURlongs was that turnout race????
I can certainly see why you (and the horse) needed a rest.
You get an A+ for this post!!!

Hey Frankie B., If you get a chance would you tell Twinkie that I sent her an email reply the other day. Hope she got it.

  18. Frankie, you've got a great seat! I had no idea you were an equestrienne!

Mom says she would love to read your book to her class! She loves children's books and she said her class is planning on doing a dog project, so it would be especially good for that!

  20. Love your riding. Were you the one who made the horse crash?

  21. Oh that was so fun!! We loved all the running back and forth. Our older brother Porter who now lives in Doggie Heaven, used to run up and down our fence with our Lab neighbor, Luna! They would run up and down and up and down, then suddenly their run would be done!!

Happy Memories. Linguini you need to eat just your own food in the future, please!!

Hugs from Toby, Ginger, Jeter & Halle xoxo

  24. I can't wait to come back and read this post because I see horses!!! Unfortunately I'm just hopping by to answer your question on my blog. It's going to take forever to catch up on the blogs in my google reader. Sigh.

Chrome is 13.1hh. I'd actually written that in his progress report, but when I deleted the stupid meta tags it deleted the measurements. Stupid blogger. He grew an inch and a quarter in a month! My gut says he's probably just having growing pains, but I tend to think worst case scenario first, have a panic/anxiety attack, realize I'm being stupid/unhelpful, calm myself down and then my down to earth, logical self is back lol. I just panic when it's my babies. Now that I've had time to calm down I'm thinking more rationally.

I've cut back on his Safechoice in an attempt to slow his growth and I went and got some Grow Colt supplement because he's eating so little of the concentrate now that he isn't getting the daily recommended about of minerals he needs and we know how important the calcium/phosphorous is for those bones. I'm going to give him a couple of weeks to see if the diet changes help while I rearrange the budget for a spare three hundred dollars and if needed I'll get the x-rays then. I'll keep everyone updated, but I appreciate hearing that your gut instinct is that he's just growing too fast. It helps to further calm me down. :) Don't know what I'd do without your guys.

P.S. He has free choice Purina Nature's Essentials loose minerals and free choice grass hay and a salt block that he just loves.

I would be second doggie too if there was a Twinkie at my estate.

  28. That was a ton of exercise for everyone involved! I think that you're lucky that the horse couldn't jump the fence and stampede you guys!

I didn't see you being chicken - maybe a little less enthusiastic than the rest - but I wouldn't call it chicken!

  31. Lol! Fresh food! They are good for that aren't they. :)

Looks like you will be a really good rider. My big sister Storm rode horses when she was a puppy, but she didn't like it and she outgrew them anyway so I guess that's okay.

I like the picture of you sleeping and of Ringo rolling . . . err sleeping. :)

  32. You looked pretty good up there, Frankie! BG and I both have ridden Grammy's old Peruvian Horse, Cory. He is REALLY tall... 15.3 hands (why are horses measured in hands and not hoofs?)

He loves to roll on the ground too after a ride. He isn't ridden to much now because he has an ouchie foot. Sometimes, Grammy will lead her little grandkids around on him for a few minutes. He is 23 years old now, and she's had him since he was 3.
