Animal Instinct | Earthquake

California 4:04 A.M. earthquake hits Pico Rivera, about 20 miles from my home, in the Foothills. I growled and let out a little bark. My animal instinct kicked in BOL Linguini and Frankie slept through it. M jumped up from a lying to a standing position on the bed. Our house, which is built on granite, shook a lot.

  3. OMD, that is horrible. We have never felt and earthquake and we don't want to either. I am really glad your all OK. When you house shakes, do you have to have it checked out to make sure it is OK? This is scary stuff to a New Englander.

How often do you feel them where you live? I wonder how strong it was?

  7. I remember being awakened by the jolt and then rolling of an earthquake in CA. My husband joked that he'd discovered where my loyalties lay because I grabbed a dog to pull into a doorway with me... Jeez, I figured that my husband knew what to do, and would pull our other dog to safety as well! But, he loves telling the story...

I'm glad that you're all OK!

  10. So scary! Did you feel it more because you're little? Is that why Linguine could sleep through it?

  12. We heard about your earthquake. I'm so glad everyone is okay.

But Twink I'm worried. Your jumped on the bed instead of running for the hills with you? Tell her jumpin' on the bed during an earthquake isn't a good idea.

    Love, Gunther

  13. It must be a little freaky to live somewhere where the ground can't seem to stand still... I wonder if it's like being on a boat..

  16. I'm glad you are okay! Mom has been through a couple of earthquakes, and says that she'd just as soon avoid any future ones! I have a feeling I don't think I'd think be able to sleep through the earth moving!

  17. Pupdate? BOL I hadn't heard that one yet. We're all fine! There were no injuries, but we sure felt it! It was only a 4.4 but it was also very close to us. They are saying in the news that the chances of this one being a foreshock are only 5% and they keep diminishing.
I still can't believe Linguini and Frankie kept snoring as it hit us. Maybe they're not rescue dogs and I am?
