I was happy to leave the dog vet's office
I love sitting in the sun and gazing around me for hours at a time
The chiweenie, on the other hand, is restless, as designer dogs often are
She found herself a black beetle
The chiweenie acted like she'd never seen a bug before in her life
She approached the black beetle
She cautiously . . .
. . . inched up on him
M finally kicked the common black beetle off the deck and soon we were headed back home.
As expected, Frankie and I were rather spent
But Linguini, dog vet visit and dog tumors temporarily forgotten, got the honorary seat for a change and stayed alert as any good co-driver should

Yucky..careful of that beetle bug. He might pinch your nose
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Why did your M not step on that there beetle...squish it like da bug it is..squish,squish. At least Frankie didn'ts eat it though.
ReplyDeleteGlad M had a good session with hers friend, even though the thoughts of tumors weren't fars behind hers. We're thinking good vibrations fur all da tumors to go away.
Puddles
Pees: OUTSTANDING fotos...love 'em.
We have a cat that eats those. It's always handy to have one bug eater in the house, but why is it always a four legger's job?
ReplyDeletewags, Lola

ReplyDeletethat beetle could have been a meal!
ReplyDeletesuch a good co-pilot!

We all like to bounce those big beetles around with our snooters, and sometimes TD will try to eat one.
ReplyDeleteLinguini looks quite regal in her honorary seat there.
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Hi Twinkie, You won't believe this... I just came from Mona's blog... her mom is all wild with worry JUST LIKE YOURS IS. It's like an epp a dem ick or something. Mona's mom found a Bump thingy on her!!! She has gone to the VET once and has to go on Thursday to have this thingy taken away. I thought maybe you could lend some of your grrrreat support to Mona and her mom, beclaws they really could use it right now too.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinkin' that you are all going through the exact same stuff and could make each other feel better.
Mitch would have eaten that beetle! He eats all buggies!

Stella, Gunther and Betty
Ick! That beetle was yucky. I am glad Frankie did not try to eat it. Gross. Linguini looks great! I hope she is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteSlobbers,
Mango
The vet and a scary, black beetle all in one day? I'd be hiding under that blanket.
ReplyDeleteThe beetle looked almost as big as you, Twinkie! Sounds like the dog vet visit turned into a bit of a fun time, hanging out on the deck in the sun. That's always a good thing!
ReplyDeleteTumors?! Oh, dear... we are so far behind! We will have to sniff this out!
ReplyDeleteYou better tell Frankie to be careful around those beetles! If they are "stink bug" beetles, they CAN shoot nasty, stinging stuff on your nose if you tick them off!!! I KNOW! When I was a pup, I was trying to play with one and it SHOT ME! Grammy had to wash off my nose, but it burned it and it was sore for several days! Grammy said she'd seen those beetles around for all her (terribly long) life, and never knew they did that until it happened and she looked it up! Mercy from Country Corgis
That's not a bug to mess with, it's a bombardier beetle - it'll shoot acid out of its behind when irritated. Chiweenie got lucky!
