After yesterday's shocking unveiling, I am under the obligation to at least answer your questions.
Are we adopting or fostering?
Full on and permanent ADOPTION! These babies aren't going anywhere. They've already got a fabulous forever home, ours, and they ain't going nowhere.
Our M doesn't care about flowers much, but she does love d-o-g-s. These Great Dane puppies were a pressie to our M. They are unfortunately NOT rescues, but once we met them, there was no returning them.
How are we all taking it?
Let me break it down for you...
Linguini, what do you think?
Here's your answer. She watches over them like the world's best pup-sitter!
The cats are not too worried. The Great Dane puppies' disposition is so balanced and calm, that even the cats instantly tolerated them nicely.
There are always exceptions.
Pedro, the chihuahua puppy, is convinced he's a Great Dane. Ever since he switched breeds (he used to be a Rhodesian Ridgeback), his disposition has changed completely. He's as sweet natured as his new siblings. We cannot believe the positive overnight change on Pedrito, the ex devilish pup!
M is in heaven. Somebody tell her she won't be able to do this for much longer, please!
We, the smaller dogs, feel the need to stick together at times, but, other than that, we're all doing well, considering our full home.
FYI, these great dane puppies are going to live the life! Our yard is a full acre.
They are fitting in beautifully and haven't complained once since they arrived.
The best news according to M:
Their poo is VISIBLE.
LOL
Any more questions?
Twinkie
Twink, you are really giving bad ideas to the Momster here - we are a happy pack of three, no more needed:) We are not surprised that Linguini loves the little ones, their coloring makes them so similar to herself, maybe she thinks they are long lost siblings:)
ReplyDeleteWe are very happy for you, and how wonderful that Pedrito is responding so awesomely!
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
oh goodness...Mom totally missed your post yesterday, but now that she's caught up she can't contain her excitement.
ReplyDeleteThey are SOOOO cute!! Tell us more!
Just to make sure...your Mom knows that Great Dane pups don't eat puppy food, right? They need to be on a food that is low protein. 21-23% max. So even though your vet might tell you different, don't believe them. You want SLOW growth and puppy food gives fast growth for regular sized dogs.
a grrreat resource is the Dane's Online forum. Mom has a linky to it on my bloggie. They have some REALLY good information on raising siblings, although they do try to discourage it.
keep the pictures coming!!

ReplyDeleteYou have a blessed home Twink!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new pups!
woo woos, Tessa
More pictures! More pictures!!
ReplyDeleteWhat are their names?!
Enjoy their tiny selves now, cause in no time they'll be as big (or bigger than) Darwin!
Murphy's right about the food! Be careful what you feed them! Even large breed dog foods are usually too high in protein for big doggies like Danes. Darwin was eating Innova Large Breed Adult formula for a while.
That's just wonderful to read that everyone's getting along and even rubbing off on one another in a good way ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour life has gone to the dogs and I'm completely jealous having just one ;-) but one is better than none!
Have a wonderful weekend with your brood! I'm very pleased and happy for you!
Kind Regards,
Doris and the Gizz
I'm sure Tucker will be glad to send along some advice!
