Chiweenie Friday (13) - Dog Training Tips part deux

Hello! Frankie here, again! I'm here to share more dog training tips. As you all know I'm enrolled in the AKC Canine Good Citizen (GCG) Program every Wednesday and on Mondays I go to dog training class.
This past week, I was determined to make mommy happy. I put on my brave thoughts and off we went to visit the horses and the other rescue dogs. On the car ride there, I made up my mind to be the bestest student there ever was.

After all, I am used to being around many other doggies
I, Frankie, the brindle chiweenie, always get along

With both large

And small

I'm even getting better when the Chimeanie is around
(there's somebody who needs dog training badly)

My dear furiends, I'm going to need another week before I impress you all.
When we arrived at my last dog obedience training class, it was packeded!
We didn't get any good shots of anybody but me. Can you guess why?
Everybody else was having a ball, while I...

... remained cautious, as usual
Hear me ROAR!!!

Those were not exactly dog training tips, but perhaps if you do the opposite of what I did, they are. Tee hee.

Have a lovely Friday!
Frankie

  1. There's nothing wrong with caution in new situations. I think you've proven your get-along-edness at the barn!

  9. Frankie-
Mama said that I'll be taking some clsses soon too. I'm not sure yet how I feel about this. I will say my sissy falls in the Chimeanie category. How can they expect us to be good when there are Chimeanies that need class waaaay more than us? *le sigh*

    Good luck training your humans!

  10. I love the photo of you with the big horse. Maybe it just takes time to get used to the bigger dogs?

  12. Who is the Chimeanie? Is this some relative of Twinkie? If so, perhaps Twinkie could straighten him out, do you suppose?

Good luck with that and in your class!

  13. You know, Frankie, it sometimes takes me a long time to gets used to stuffs, too. But then when I do, look out! I thinks it's A-okay to checks things out before diving right in. You just takes your time and put one paw in front of the other and it'll all work out.

  14. Frankie, honey.....I say you can never use too much caution I tell ya what.

'Specially when ya got jackass friends who like tuh shake yer PBR buhfore ya open it.

  15. That's okay if it didn't go exactly like you wanted - the important thing is you tried. Dog training classes are overrated anyway - you learn lots more at home than you do in a class with a bunch of scary dogs, right?

  16. Sometimes a little bit of caution can be good. No doubt over time it will be all ok.

Your class is missing one important thing tho, from what I can see - where are the big dogs? Or maybe they do a different class than the lil dogs you share your school lessons with?

  19. Oh Frankie, I know just how you feel. When Mom and Dad took me to the school and the playgroup, I just wanted to hide in Dads lap. I know you are just shy around strangers because look at what a good friend you are when you get to know big and little animals. You are very brave.
