A USC Horse Show Outing

We did go to the horse show yesterday! We went to watch M's girl-peanut who was competing for USC. It was a beautiful sunny day, a bit on the cold side, but so much fun.

The minute Frankie and I arrived, we became the center of attention--what's new?
We got to play in a vast, overgrown field

We made some new furiends and we invited them to GABE
They are going to ask their mothers for permission

I picked a fight, because I'm ornery

Hear me roar!

We were hanging at the edge of our seat (M) as spectators

On our way back to the car, we visited some more beautiful horses

We didn't really want to go home

But that was only because I didn't know we'd be getting juicy bones when we got back.

Overall, a most excellent day! Thanks to M's peanut, we got to go out and enjoy ourselves for a change. Did I mention I'm on my way out the door this morning? Um, I'm going to the horse barn! BOL Have a grrreat Sunday!

Life Can Be A Dream

A good day for Linguini is a day of hiking with dogs, with her pals, the rhodesian ridgeback dogs, Hank and Sue. While in general, the rhodesian ridgeback is too sweet and gentle, it's also an extremely powerful dog. M has decided to skip any potential drama by bringing out entire pack together, Frankie and I are too tiny, so she just takes Linguini, the dalmatian and german shorhaired pointer mix, on hikes with Hank and Sue. She deserves it!

First they go for a lovely dog hike.

As you see, they allow Linguini to lead
Rhodesian ridgeback dogs are very polite by nature

After the hike they like to have a picnic

Then Hank negotiates the dog food and homemade dog treats
I hear he's a pawesome host

On a full tummy, they get to catch up on their zzzs

Isn't Hank an adorable pretzel?

Content Linguini

I wish I could join them, because I never like being left home alone, but I understand that Linguini needs her big-dog time. I love my older sister and how happy she comes home after her special dog hiking expeditions. Besides, I can't complain, I'm going to a new horse barn today!

Chiweenie Friday (9)

Hello, dear furiends! Frankie the chiweenie here, or should I say, "the second class citizen is here"?

I'm not terribly sorry to let you know that I've had it! So what if I was adopted last? I am a superb student and a good listener. Okay, so once in a while I leave special "treats" for my mom, but that's only because she's too busy to take me outside the 22 times a day I need to. And besides, I'm not the only one discriminateded against. Linguini suffers with me.

While momma works on her tall architect's desk all day, we, Linguini and I, stay by her feet.

We are reduced to THIS!

While, the Queen
Spends her days right next to mommy
On the desk itself

Even the cats get better treatment
(Don't look if you're already upset)
Bob is on mommy's chair
He looks so very comfortable

That ain't fair, momma
Please pick me up

I bet Tiffy, Ciara, Abby, and all the other newbies are reading this and that they are feeling my pain.

Before I leave you, we got the badge for our Global Animal Blogging Event from Zoolatry. The badge and update can be found HERE

Stay not so cold! Tee hee

Horseback Riding Lessons | I've Been Tagged

What can I say, those pranksters over at Dip-Dip and The Bridge, got me! I know my M always deletes this type of emails, but I'm better than that, so I graciously accept the challenge.

What I've got to do:
1. Open my first photo folder (in a moment)
2. Scroll down to the tenth photo (wish me luck)
3. Post the photo and tell the story behind it (do I really have to?)
4. Tag 5 more people (with pleasure!)

The next five victims are:
1. Dip Dip (BOL, wasn't in the rules, so I'm getting them back)
2. Frankie Furter (so looking forward to what he'll come up with)
3. Sonic (he's lonely, oh, Sonic, Sandy Yago is that-a way)
4. Coco, but not Tiffy (Coco needs to feel special)
5. Captain Crunch, Candy, and Miss Bailey (while there's still time)

Grabbing that photo NOW... I got lucky, and so did you, my furiends. M has gazillions of photos.
Human sis with Webby the horse

The story:
Once upon a time...BOL just kidding. M has two peanuts; a girl and a boy. After visiting a carousel, the girl from the photo, age 5 then, decided she was done with toy horses and she wanted the real thing, horseback riding lessons. M found a five-day day-camp and enrolled both her peanuts. Day 1: both peanuts came home stating that they had "rotted in the sun." Day 2: boy peanut only "rots in the sun" while girl stays quiet. Day 3: boy peanut still rotting while girl is trotting. Day 4: same. Day 5: The end of the week event for parents. Both peanuts were on top of a horse doing vaulting (gymnastics). Moments into the not-so-well-rehearsed-routine, boy peanuts starts to fall calling girl-peanut's name and sounding accusatory--yes it was a long fall. The result: boy still accuses sis (he still does, fifteen years later) and becomes a water polo player. Girl: has been taking horseback riding lessons almost every day since then and wants to become a horse trainer--after she gets her BA, M said.

You know what, my Dip-Dips, this was a fun tag after all. Thank you!

International Animal Blogging Event

Heads up, furiends. I'm working on my 1st ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL ANIMAL BLOGGING EVENT. It will take place, right here, on this blog, beginning April 1st and ending on April 18th, when all the winners of the free giveaways will be announced. I will accept links March 31- April 10th. We can all come together and have lots of fun. The rules are quite simple. If you want to participate, you have to place the event's logo on your sidebar, email me a link to the post with the event's logo (yes same logo but on your actual post) and instructions for your readers. You just have to figure out your one or more free giveaways--that's up to you. I will then glance at your post and if it's G-rated and satisfies the two conditions, I'll post it on my blog for all the others to share and be able to visit with ease. Those of you who don't want to give away anything can still participate. You can just use the links to get to meet new furiends and if you like, leave a comment (only one per post) so that you can become eligible to get the free giveaways. This is an event for bloggers. This is important as we, the active participants, will need to contact you at the end of the event to find out where to mail the prizes. We are all going to be winners here. We'll either gain new friends or prizes or both.

Until then: TELL ALL YOUR FURIENDS! Any and all critters are welcome, that would include anything from tiny sugar gliders, to crazy coyotes and wooly mammoths. SPREAD THE WORD and let's have some fun!

I am looking for a cool badge/logo and a catchy name/acronym (such as: International Animal Blogging Event/IABE, or All Critters United/ACU etc). Since I came to you my close furiends feel free to brainstorm with me.

Oh, you may wanna check out my post on a different worldwide bloggers' event, One World One Heart from which I got my inspiration, and for which I am grateful. Here's the link: OWOH

On my PSA on the dangers of hitchhiking Remington left me the following comment:
Hey Twink -- that sounds like fun! I am going to go and try to get into someone's shirt! Should be interesting! I will let you know how it turns out....or maybe you will have to come and bail me out....

You probably know I love a good laugh and I was tickled at the thought of Remi in anybody's shirt. Remington, did you mean...

PS: It has come to my attention that Hope and Greyz, in corroboration with Fumbled Returns, are running a fun contest with great prizes. Check it out! It's titled, Fumbled Returns Mutt Madness Contest.

Santa Monica Promenade | Not So Sunny California

As I told you yesterday, we were entertaining friends from out of town this past weekend, so M decided, despite all the weather forecast warnings, to take them to the Santa Monica Promenade.
We felt tiny

Especially next to our bro
(see the lady snicker in the back?)

Frankie and I are getting better on the double leash

But sometimes we can pull too hard

See the human straining with the effort to hold us back?

We stopped for coffee and Frankie was convinced that
I was getting whipping cream behind her back

She finally accepted the lack of whipped cream,
but she was bummed by it
M didn't bring any homemade dog treats either!

M decided that the weather would hold a while longer and her friends should definitely get to see Venice Beach. BOL

It wasn't such a great idea, was it, M?

That's why this is our only photo from Venice
The storm hit fast and hard and we ran for cover

The drive back took forever because both Frankie, the chiweenie, and I were in a hurry to get to our warm home. I was particularly missing my heating pad.

One thing you should know about Frankie,
she always says her prayers before going to sleep

I was so tired...I simply crashed

I apologize for sounding so exhausted in today's post, but please take into account that I'm still commuting back and forth between Los Angeles and France. Mack and Sally Ann took us all the way to the French Alps where  Asta temporarily took over as our tour guide. We're still having a ball, but with all the travel, time difference, skiing the Alps, jet lag, and that horribly cold walk at Venice Beach and the Santa Monica Promenade ... a pup's gotta rest sometimes.

Have a great week!
