It's Raining Cats and Dogs

So what are the cats and dogs doing inside?

I, Twinkie, the teacup chihuahua, am working on my calisthenics.

Jet, the ornery black cat, is playing with my ball.

The chiweenie is enjoying dog chews.

She is really enjoying her dog chews!

Charlie, the tuxedo kitten, is enjoying an antler.

Pedro, the wacky chihuahua puppy, is trying to electrocute himself again
(he's on a heated throw)

I steal the chiweenie's chew just to make her angry.

It works every time!

I pick up a marrow bone to chew on . . .

Some more calisthenics and then time for another nap.

A Good Day In The Life Of Our Rescue Chiweenie

I get criticized frequently about picking on my brindle sister, Frankie, aka The Chiweenie, so today, I want to make amends. I want to share with you inside info about how well taken care of our chiweenie really is. Believe me, this rescue dog hit the jackpot the day she joined our menagerie.

Exhibit A
Chiweenie happily munching on one of her favorite dog treats, a marrow bone.

Exhibit B
Notice the squinty eyes. That is devotion!

Exhibit C
A small lick on an ice cold Slurpee to complete the experience.

Exhibit D
Ladies and Tramps, I believe I may now rest my case.

I swear, we love and take good care of my brindle sissy. The only reason we make fun of her so frequently is . . . well, she asks for it! BOL

Happy Labor Day!

The Marrow Bone Feast

I often talk about the ease with which all of us small dogs devour marrow bones. I finally got the opportunity to get photos and video of the most noteworthy marrow bone technique. Unfortunately, just like my extra large dog friends can surf the countertops and I can't, my technique applies to small dogs only.
Get your bibs out!

CHIWEENIE DEMONSTRATES MARROW BONE EATING TECHNIQUE

Passion

Dedication

Determination

Devotion

And now I will demonstrate with a video
1. my expert paw scooping technique
2. the fact that the chiweenie isn't as innocent as you all think (she has food aggression issues)

And as the brindle-bum chews away . . .
Spotted dog is only interested in belly rubs

While I'm working on my strength of character.

Any questions?

Teacup Chihuahua Playing Hard To Get

There's a good looking dude in my life. His name is Hank and he's a rhodesian ridgeback. Here's a picture of him:

As you can see, he's a rather handsome fellow.
Hank is also an intellectual. He likes to watch animal planet and mun2.
He is also a gracious host and he always shares his marrow bone with me.

But I, Twinkie the teacup chihuahua, am quite a catch so . . .
"Catch me if you can, Hanky!"
(I love to play hard to get)

Hank is oblivious though, because he is blinded by his feelings for me.
Watch him drool over me!

What Hank has going for him above everything else is his sense of humor.
His nickname is Scooby.
"Huh?"

And because I love a great sense of humor,
sometimes, during our dog hiking expeditions, we walk off into the sunset together.

Right, Hanky? (wink)

Horse Show And Tons of Dog Treats

I'm one lucky teacup chihuahua. I am part of a furry large active family. We went to yet another horse show this weekend. We left behind the newborn kittens and the new outdoor cat enclosure and off we went.

We met this beautiful new rescue dog, an Akita mix
As soon as the heelers assured me she was safe, I approached to greet her

Frankie was hanging with the horses

We discovered some colossal tunnels to play in

I love to run free and explore the universe

My friend, the chiweenie, Tigger, found a hoof to chew on
Horse hoof trimmings make the yummiest dog treats
One must be careful though because a large dog may choke on those whereas a small may get an obstruction

Finally, a human dog treat bearer!
Both the chiweenie and the chihuahua started to beg
Tsk tsk

While my chiweenie sis and I waited stoically

The blue heeler, Holly, got some too

My favorite shot of the day
MarroBone dog treats are not to be confused with the marrow bone dog chews I've been talking about

And the feast went on for a while

My chiweenie sissy got pooped and had to take a break

It was really hot, so we all got plenty of fresh water to drink

Just as I was playing chihuawars with my sissy, the blue heeler decided to interrupt
"Go away, Holly, or I'll bite you too. I'm not kidding around."

I was so upset after that, so I got into the horse trailer and . . .

. . . gave her a pees of my mind

My new fried really enjoyed herself too

Before parting with my friends, we got . . . human treats
They call them Subway

Subways are the best!

I'm afraid the chiweenie got too full in the end

What a great day at the horse barn. I got to play with horses, watch my human sissy compete in the horse show, eat a bunch of yummy treats, and played off leash with my friends. I can't wait until the next time.

The Bone Marrow Feast

It's a dog-day cinderella story. One day I was broken and sick in an alley in downtown Los Angeles, and the next I'm chewing on yummy marrow bones with my pals, after a long dog hiking adventure.

Lately my pack and I have been hiking with a pair of rhodesian ridgebacks. They've introduced us to many fabulous trails and creeks where we've had endless fun. At first, I, a teacup chihuahua, was left behind because of my size because we were worried that the robust rhodies might step on me. Recently, we decided to give it a shot. It went really well and we've all been hiking together ever since. But it's not just our hikes I look forward to. The rhodies are superb hosts and they are both great at sharing. Visiting them at home is the equivalent of a child going to Disneyland for the first time. My favorite attractions at the rhodies' is that the grounds are like a bone cemetery. At any given time, they have at least four juicy loaded marrow bones lying around with my name on them, or so I like to think.

Our gracious host, Hank, welcoming us at the door
"Welcome to my home, Twinkie and pack."

Our spotted senior dog, always gets the first taste of dog treat

Spotted dog is tolerant of brindle dog, phew!

But if you look closely, you'll see that she's not too happy about it
As long as she puts up with it, we're okay

Spotted dog was right to be concerned about her marrow bone
The little brindle dog does have the tendency to . . .

. . . devour it

I am always happy to assist with the devouring part

I have developed a technique that only small dogs can use. Take notes: The large dogs, cannot, I repeat, cannot get their big snouts in there. The best dog tongues in the world couldn't empty this fine bone. This is where my technique and size come into play. I use my front paws like spoons. I stick them in there, scoop out a nice appetizer size bite, and then I eat it off my toe nails. The large dogs have no option but to drool and stare at me in wonderment.

Over and out!
