As soon as we got to the barn, we saw Asha, the pitbull rescue. She's grown! I'll share my pitbull pictures and I'll talk to you about pit bull aggression and pitbull training.
I love Asha's tail
She's too perfect without the kink
This is Asha's sister, Chloe
A west highland white terrier
Another of the horse barn folks' rescue dogs
Notice the pit bull aggression? Not yet, huh? Wait
How about now?
Let me tell you what happened next. M started to summon Asha's parent to ask her to keep Asha from playing with Linguini. M was worried both about what the dog vet ordered and the fact that Linguini does not engage in play regularly. So, M stated, matter of fact, that Linguini does NOT play. Hmm, some other dog rescue parents overheard and one of them even corrected M. "Linguini is playing," the lady said. "No she's not, she never plays," M argued. "Your girl is playing," the lady insisted. M shrugged and backed off, holding her breath. Let's see some more pit bull aggression then.
Oooh, that's scary!
It's scary from this side as well
I watched helplessly from the sidelines as the pitbull attack began
OMD these two are two aggressive dogs
Must be the pit bull's fault
Hmm, maybe the lady was right about Linguini playing
But aren't pit bulls the most aggressive dogs on earth?
So far, I can only prove they're professional sniffers
Maybe they got their reputation from being aggressive sniffers
Asha's sniffing, aka making friends, with Holly, the blue heeler
Beware of the upcoming pit bull attack!
Beware, happy pit bull on your rear!
Exasperated Linguini: "Move it, kids. Asha and I are playing."
Careful, what's this human peanut doing playing with aggressive dogs?
Where is her parent? Hasn't she heard of pitbull aggression?
I'm sorry, when faced with extreme stupidity and lack of information, I turn a bit facetious. I feel the need to make flippant remarks to try and grab people's attention. Boneheaded pit bull aggression myths, dismissed. All you responsible pit bull owners and lovers need to do is work on your pitbull training as early as possible and be consistent like with any other breed. The only extra thing you need to worry about with your pit bull is the burden of society.
Our demo pit bull, Asha, has been in training for a couple of short months. She's now the ideal companion you can take anywhere. She's friendly with dogs and humans alike. She loves children and she even likes (puts up) with little dogs. Asha is a role model!
As for Linguini, we know she wasn't supposed to play due to her condition. She was a bit sore after yesterday, but she also had a big smile on her face all day long. We hope that her mental health along with the Rimadyl will contribute to her physical health.
Adopt a dog and feel free to make it a pit bull. They're as nice as the rest of us. It's up to you.
All responsible dog owners, should carefully go over the different dog breeds, before deciding on the best match that will benefit both the parent and the dog. What's the best dog for you?

I am just flabergasted...cuz, we think alike. Now I haves a thing to say bout that COSISTENT training....DON'T DO IT. Well cuz it's just no fun fur da Puddle Duddles. I however, am quite consistent in training mum though. Oh I furgot, I'm not a pit bull...HA!
Ok, in all seriousness, this was a much brilliant post. It was very informative with a dash of dry humor...what coulds be better?
I must talk mum into uploading more pics on our bloggie, you know just to get my points across. Check out Deviant Art also. Yesterdays pics were done with the chocolate from Lolly's Playground.
I know all bout Totally Rad...fantastic!
Puddles
great post! i see pitties discriminated against all the time! some of the sweetest dogs i have met and worked with are pits....i once worked with an aggressive golden! they really get a back rap, that is not fair! our humane society has a special training program for those that adopt pits, mostly to educate the humans!
such wonderful dog pictures....
xoxo
Hello
Great play shots!
Pitbulls and Staffys are always categorised as vicious and aggressive only due to a small minority that bask in the breeds "tough" appearance, the ones we know are just big softies!!!
Did I spot a twin Lorenza?
Koda
There are no bad dogs....just uneducated owners on how to train their dogs....I feel so bad because it is the dogs that suffer....
Ha - we just came from Puddles' post about pitts too - great post again, Twink. It's not the dog, not the breed, it's all in the training and to some extent the breeding. Great to see Linguini having so much fun - she can recuperate today.

Hi Twink
We wish we could adopt a pibble. Unfortunately they are banned where we live. You can keep the dog you have, but no new ones.
We have a beautiful pibble who lives across the street from us. She is the most friendly pup. She even plays with the little dogs.
Love Ruby & Penny
We were scared for Linguine there for a moment, until we saw the happy smile on her face!!
Pit bulls are not aggressive, it's their foolish irresponsible owners that make them aggressive.

Twinkie,
Did you know that my mom used to be real skeered of pit bulls cuz of all the crazy things she heard on the news? She had met some nice pit bulls but thoughts they must be the exception.
But then I came along and even though we don't really know what I am, mom decided to do some research on pit bulls in case I have some in me. Well, you coulda knocked her over with a feather when she found out that nice pit bulls are the RULE, not the exception. Now she knows how silly she was cuz she was so very much uneducated on the subject.
So we think it's real important to do what you and Puddles are doing and lets people know the TRUTH and educate them and maybe they'll one day start thinking about pit bulls as what they are - just dogs, not mean scary monsters.
Wiggles & Wags,
mayzie
What a great job you did on this subject! I, too, was a bit frightened for Linguini, but oh so pleasantly surprised and delighted to see them both playing so happily! Agreeing to all of the above comments and your own re: training - so important for any breed at all!
Big Hugs xoxox
Sammie
great post!
Some of the best playmates for Dar are pitties... she plays rough, they play rough, they all get along. As long as they are socialized and their owner is observant (as with any other dog owner) I have no problem letting Dar play with them.
Twinkie
That was a gweat post..Pitties awe the sweetest if they have decent ownews , they can be the ovingest affectionate sweet doggies. they awe stqong and some stoopid hoomins take advantage of that and twy to twain thwm to be aggwessive..BAD HOOMINS!
smoochie kisses
ASTA
A most excellent post. Pitties and Rotts have bad reps. No getting around that. BUTT... it SHOULD be stupid Two Leggers who are blamed NOT the unfortunate dawgs that are forced to suffer for how they were treated. I'm just sayin'.
aww twinkie love
we tanks you furry so much for your most wonderful post about pibbles. ush pibbles have feelings too just like the west of woggies and all we wanna do ish please the humans and love on them and sniff peemails. maybe wittle by wittle people will love ush again thanks to nice people like you who get the word around for people to be a wittle more open minded.
wiff lotsa luv and sugary pibble kisses
the pittie pack
Well said, Twink! I've never met one (though I have been mistaken for one..) but my Mom say they are furry good dogs. Now if we could just ban the bad peoples and fix teir undeserved bad rep...!
Kisses,
Bajas
I agree with exactly what Remington just said...it is the dogs that end up suffering because of dumb owners. :(
pitties are grrreat doggies!! i think we should take all the dorky, misinformed hoomans out there and put them all in a room and then send in a pittie procession to cover them all with gooey nose kisses and lovin's. that should take care of the problem. :)
*woof*
the booker man
pee s -- i'm glad miss linguini got to have some fun play time even if her leggie was sore afterwards. sometimes it's just nice to let it all go, you know? :)
OH MY DAWG! Run for your life! That has to be the scariest thing I've ever seen!
Seriously? that pit is probably one of the cutest dogs i've seen in a while. THAT FACE! oh my dawg i melt for it. I tend not to gravitate toward pit bulls ONLY becasue i tend to gravitate toward long nosed dogs. (yes we all have our favorites)... so bull dogs in general are not my choice of dog, HOWEVER, i don't love them any less as a breed or species. I adore them! those eyes on Asha are just to die for! serious melting going on over here...
here's an interesting read on pit bulls and breed specific legislation (people with their heads up their butts about a specific breed) http://www.dogstardaily.com/blogs/advocacy-overdrive-why-bsl-humane-treatment-dogs-are-linked
i haven't finished reading it yet myself.
cheers!
wild dingo
p.s. don't get me started on the agression of a dingo or formosan for that matter. and the aggression of a siberian on say a pair of dankso shoes... OH MY DOG. the shoes don't stand a chance!
Very nice post! You know, when I read about Shar Pei on various sites I don't recognize myself, or too many Shar Pei that I know. We were used as fighting dogs at one time, too, and the bad rap isn't entirely gone. It wasn't our fault, and it's not the pitties fault. All the pitties I've met have been just as sweet as anything, by the way.
wags, Lola
You guys sure must be exhausted when you get back from the barn. It looks like tons of fun
Benny & Lily
Must be the kink in her tail that keeps her from being a "typical aggressive pit" :) I agree with Frankie. Just like kids, I think puppies are born as a blank slate and it's the parents/owners who solidify the temperament and behavior of the dogs.
Ha ha! I think the only danger we've been in from the pibbles we've met is of being licked to death!
Bunny
Be careful, Twinkie. If those big doggies get to rough-housing, they might step on you! I worry about you!
Mandu
Hi Twinkie!
Cool play pics!
We dont believe in breed being the problem.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful friends with us!!
Cheers,
Maxx and Family
What a truly pawesome post!!!!!!!
Smileys!
Dory
I think everyone had fun in those pictures.
Sally Ann
Oh how I know!
When Mom's passengers inkhlude one of the aggressive pibbles, I worry if I'll evFUR see her and my Xterra again!
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
Some of the sweetest dogs I've ever met are pitties. It's bad owners that create the bad reputations.

Word. *fist bump*
How fun to see Linguini playing and everyone getting along. Mom often wishes humans would get along as well as a pack of dogs... *sigh*
Kisses,

Hey Twink! We LOVE this post!!!!
We are glad linguini got some play time in... Even if it was with that scary pittie bull :)
we love responsible pup owners... Especially when they own pit bulls. Speaking of responsible pet owners... Today Seth took the kiddlets for a walk on the trail behind our house , on his way home he encountered a couple walking a pit bull on leash & a chihuahua OFF leash. The chi ran quickly up to caps and attacked, Seth picked him up and then the chi attacked candy... The man came running stepped in his chi and the dig bolted! Meanwhile the in leash pittie was calm... We wonder why.they did t have both dogs on leash. ????
I particularly loved the tenth photo, of the three dogs facing away from the camera.
Twinkie we don't currently have a woofie in our life but Mom is a firm believer that all dogs need obedience training early...it saves lots of grief later.
WE are so glad that doggie has a good mom!!!
Dogs are as good as their owners.
Madi and Mom
Thanks, Twinkie, for showing everyone that pitties are doggies too. Me, being part pittie, understands the bad rap they get. When Mommy, Riley and I walk in the 'hood, people always walk quickly the other way when they see us coming.
Mommy had to explain over and over that it's because of that awful reputation that very few people (grownups, usually) want to pet us and get to know us. And here I thought it was my extreme handsomeness that made them run away...
Sniffs,

BooDee BooDah Tribe
Nice to see you all! I'm getting caught up on bloggies (yet again) and glad to see Linguini feels up to playing! And congrats to Frankie on that CGC! See, I told you it'd be easy-peezy!
Snorts-
Brutus the Frenchie
Very nice post! I agree with many of the commenters that ANY dog can be vicious! Exhibit #1 at my house: Miss Ginger the toy poodle!!! But we do love her and work with her xoxo
Wonderful example of those "aggressive" dogs. I love that first photo of Asha in silhouette! Very artistic of you Twink. My momma always says, she has never met a dog she didn't like but she has met a few people.... and then she stops. Does this apply here?
Snuggles,
Twix
PS: Good to see you around the 'hood even tho you said you might not be around ;o)
Oops! I meant to ask you why Linguini never plays? And how is she feeling?
Grammy doesn't believe that pitties are inherently bad either, and has known several that she really liked, but she still says we have to be very careful around them because some people DON'T train them right and it can be dangerous going up to a strange dog... of ANY kind really, not just pitties. Shoot, after the fight, Sadie probably thinks corgis aren't safe... and if she keeps LOOKIN' AT ME, she right!!! OC
