Post Valentine's Day Update | Valentine Cards

What a nutty and incredible weekend this turned out to be! First off, the Max Tour virus spread over many of our blogs turning blog-land into an awesome extended family. It turns out that the main theme of the Max Tour, besides the celebration of his life, was that good f(u)riends are to be cherished forever. I love our blogging community. You guys rock!

There was the matter of a certain handsome pug fellow to court as well. He didn't do much courting himself, so I had to do most of the work including the photosh-- (oops).
Gunther, the pug, probably out of guilt after seeing Frankie Furter's, the doxie, special attention to his girls, decided, and told me over the phone, that he's going to tattoo my name on his arm. I was really excited and asked him to use my full name: Conchita Twinkie Twinkerson Doodle-bug. Gunther and I never actually got to go on a date, but that's just fine because I would have had to have dinner with Brutus who recently beat me in a V-Day photo contest. I'm still a bit sore from that, just a tad.

The other issue that upset my family peace this weekend is that of the valentine cards. All these came for me!
The top one is from my pug's family. I though it was the best among all valentine cards ever. You know why? It was my first! I thank you.
The one below my Gunther's is from our furiends the Houston Pittie Pack. Guero and I have been meaning to meet for some cold cervezas, but I'll have to run it by Gunther at this point. Thank you all for the beautiful card.
And the bright pink one? I would have guessed it was Mona from miles away. It was!!! Thank you Mona and The Mommy!

Now, what's upsetting about all those beautiful cards, you may wonder. Here, I'll show you M's cards.
What was she complaining about? It's all about quality, not quantity!

Regardless, Frankie who is both a cracker-dog bratwurst chiweenie and not able to deal with puppy potty training still, decided to get creative for our momma.

Remember this?
Bad Frankie

Good Frankie replaced it with this:

No comment and No puppy potty training tips either

What a weekend! I'm exhausted already. What's next? M and Frankie walking off into the sunset leaving us lots with a dog treat? We shall see, won't we?

Max World Tour | Golden Retriever Pictures

Golden retrievers rule!

I dedicate this post to you, my South African furiend. You are the happy optimist and this post is going to stay true to your character. We're about to have fun at the Mediteranean together. Ready? Let's go, Max!

Golden Retriever Pictures

Here we are on a cruise boat. We're about to cross the world famous Corinth Canal.

The Isthmus joins the mainland of Greece with the Peloponnese Peninsula. It is made out of limestone and rises approximately 300 feet above sea level. For centuries, mariners had to go out of their way to go between the Gulf of Corinth and the Saronic Gulf. In the late 19th century the journeys shortened after the completion of the Corinth Canal. Every year thousands of hundreds of tourists come to admire. Max was here too. I can prove it!

Linguni is busy smelling for artifacts, Twinkie is doing a classic bunny pose, Frankie is being a brat, a bat a chiweenie, and you, Max, the happiest of golden retrievers, you're the gentleman you were meant to be.

This wasn't an educational trip only. As usual, we had to make time for play. Before we left the friendly Mediterranean Sea, we had to have a blast. What should we do? What did you say, Max? Tubing? Your wish shall be fulfilled.

We put you in the middle so we can help you back up on the float, in case our driver's nutty; you never know with them Greeks. You can bet the lifeguard was taking a siesta though.

VoilĂ

Whenever you decide to take your bow, remember us, your forever furiends. We didn't exactly paint the town red for you, but we did paint our blogs in your honor. Heck, we're a mighty community: we painted the Internet for you. It's our way of letting the World know that MAX WAS HERE, because the we will never forget.

Chiweenie Friday (5)

Hello, lovely furiends. I'm ba-ack! Misseded you all.

Our furiends and friends, Maggy and Zoey and Ann, from Zoolatry sent us a lovely Valentine's photo of Twinkie. Twinkie loved it. She even used it as her profile picture on Face Book, for everybody to admire. She said M has never made her look this good. Not even for the dog photo contest. See for yourselves.

I happen to agree with my sissy. This is really flattering. When I grow up, I'll make my own, if I can.

The Zoolatry Girls, gave us all another huge surprise. They did some magic with Linguini's photo and they even featured it on their other blog, Collectibles by Zoolatry. Here's the LINK to the post that shows my sissy. I am very proud to share with you the actual photo, right here, on our blog.

How cool is that?

Dear furiends, you should know that after seeing those photos, both Twinkie and Linguini turned into primadonnas overnight. They were late getting out of bed the next day (they didn't even make their beds when they finally got up), they keep asking for extra dog treat, especially the duck a l'orange, they demandeded extra time during our walk, and they treat me like I'm not that important. Not fair, I say. So, I decided to play around with one of my favorite photos of me. It was fun! Tee-hee. Do you like?

I think it's not bad for a beginner chiweenie.

Thank you for the lovely photos, Maggy and Zoey and Ann. We really appreciated them.

We got an award! Our new furiends at Feisty Three & Family, awardeded us with the Sunshine Award that we will post proudly in our sidebar. Thank you good furiends. We've all enjoyed meeting your pack and partying with you.
I love the colors. I love sunshine.

Speaking of fun beautiful things, our furiends over at Rocky Creek Scottie Adventures are running a Name That Puppy Contest. All nine puppies are adorable. Check it out and see what you come up with. Frankie's taken! Reaaaally reeaally taken!

Oh, before I go, Twinkie does not have a Valentine's date yet. Any suggestions?

See you furiends later, kk? Stay not cold!

Blue Heeler | Whatcha Looking At?

That's pretty much what yesterday's comments were mostly about. What did you all want to know? Frankie and I were posing. When my blue heeler furiends, Gus, Louie, and Callie, the Three Happy Heelers, pose for photos, nobody asks them whether they're looking for pizza, or trouble. Nobody asks them "Whatcha Looking At?" OMD, why me?

In any case, I decided to give meaning to the pose and admit (lie) that I was watching the filming of the video you're about to view. After it was a wrap, then we had pizza,  JackDaddy, and ice cream, Remington, and steaks, Fiona, and yes, a cute Pug walked by too, Salinger. I was slightly touched when Sonic said he thought we smelled something really nice. He's a stinker that one and I didn't expect him to use the words "nice" and "smell" in the same sentence.

The pathetic truth: I love aaaaall your comments. Yup, yup, that's right and don't you forget. Every day, our pack can't wait to shove M off her computer chair so we can read your posts and comments.

Here's the video we shot last. It's about safety awareness, if you haven't left yet. I was just pulling all your legs. Hope you like!

Pardon me, but I have to run now. I was just informed I have a lovely award waiting for me over at The Fiesty Three. I crashed a birthday party there recently and instead of blacklisting me, they made me their furiend. What a pack!

Our Finches

I noticed that we have some bird lovers among us and a lot of you commented on the finches in my family video. I don't think I've told you, we have an aviary outside. It's awesome. We have finches and they make the cutest sounds--unlike them free parrots. As a bonus, many wild birds come to eat the bird seed that falls outside the cage and that keeps me and my sisters entertained. We do a lot of bird chasing in our own back yard.

This is a nest in our front yard. It's occupied every spring. Early reservation recommended.

To the back yard now and the aviary
Our finches

Mama and Papa, both finches guarding their nest

Baby finches, you can see the food in their gullets--the small sacs full of seed.

Same nest, different angle.

This is Junior, one of them, but we can't keep track so they're all named the same.

Junior stuck on floor of aviary. Uh-oh.
Don't worry, the parents are great flight instructors.

Another mama stands guard.

Aren't they adorable?

I sure hope at least my kat-furiends enjoyed today's post about our finches. Happy hunting!

But before you go...

Not for Mango's Eyes
My beloved furiend, Frankie Furter, the long haired doxie, is not just a really fun, funny, and good furiend, he's a thoughtful and considerate dude. He's putting together a massive THANK YOU to show our appreciation for Mango's amazing and involved work during Mango Minster 2010. THIS is my furiend's link where you can get the details in his own words.
