The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly | Pet Photo Contest Info

The kittens are now a little over 3 mos old. The weigh over 5lbs and sadly they are all much bigger, heavier, and faster than me, Twinkie.

The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly

The Good
Puddles, the calico kitten
Puddles is mellow and sweet with vivacious outburst. She keeps to herself a lot unless she's in the mood to be petted. She's the runt of the litter, but when she gets a toy, beware; she'll growl and protect it. Most of the day, she lounges around looking beautiful.

The Bad
Charlie Chuckles (aka Trouble), the tuxedo kitten
The instigator! We probably shouldn't have changed his name from Trouble.  He is nothing but. He is unruly and obnoxious. He thinks barriers are to be ignored and rules created to be defied. He gets along with everybody in the house and loves to play ball with Frankie, the chiweenie. He is also a talker. He is this litter's shining star.

Charlie is climbing over a 6 foot barrier to get to us dogs.

The Ugly
The Smudge! (aka, Clorox), the muted tortie
Mama's girl! She is attached to her mom's hip most of the day. She's taken the semi-feral traits of her mom as well. She's hard to catch, and seems to only tolerate the rest of us. She hisses at all of us dogs and the rest of the cats. Up close, her face looks like somebody squirted her with bleach.

And their mama:
Farrah, the feral ghetto kitty
Still an amazing mother to her kittens. She's still nursing them as well. Because the kittens' adult teeth are coming in, when she nurses she often jumps up cussing and correcting them. She's really vocal. She's getting used to M who she loves to follow around. She's tiny and will not eat until her kittens are done. Even when presented with her favorite cat treats, she would rather give them to her babies.

The tribe is thriving, now I'm counting on M to protect us from the monsters that keep charging at us. Meanwhile, our home is adorned with beautiful squirt bottles strategically located in every room.

Pet Photo Contest Information

Show Us Your Booty!

It's going to be a bootylicious contest open to all pets. This time, I will kindly request that there are no human entries, pretty please.
In the next couple of days, I will introduce you to our sponsors by posting a review about their eco friendly products.
I will post the pet photo contest rules and free giveways in detail right after that.
As always, if the topic inspires you, by all means, post about your booty and share with your furiends; I know that I was truly inspired by the Show Us Your Tongue hilarious posts. Oh, one more thing, if I get one more comment about Puddles' hiney, I'm going to have to break my rules and enter my own personal tush, and that's a threat! In any case, don't forget to take our Brown Newfie friends' brilliant advice: start doing your lunges.

Happy mooning, furiends!

S-ass-y Chiweenie

 Are you serious???

 I am confused!

You really want a Show Us Your Hiney pet photo contest?

I didn't have those ass-pirations growing up, but by all means, I'm a rather agreeable chiweenie.
Happy moonings everybody!

Meanwhile . . .
 Not again, Brindle-bum!
(I need some fresh air)

I am a teacup chihuahua and a lady. I refuse to share my booty shots, however, it appears that I'm a minority when it comes to voting for a body part for our next pet photo contest.

I ass-ume you've all guessed the answer by now!

Our next photo contest will be revolving around booties, tushies, moonings, dusters, keisters, arses, glutes . . .

Bottom line
We're going to be making (beeps) out of ourselves again.

Clarification: During the last contest, for obvious reasons, I had to exclude amphibians and those species with a well endowed tongue, there are no limits to the upcoming contest though. Even donkeys are welcome!

Warning: Perhaps you would like to carefully monitor your comments in the days to come. Who knows what kind of traffic we're going to attract.

Wordless Wednesday & Sabbatical Cancelled

This is the photo I was originally going to share with you on Wordless Wednesday:

It's me, Twinkie, the teacup chihuahua, enjoying my sabbatical.

Meeep!
Change of plans.

Before taking my leave of absence, I'd made a prior commitment to post a product review for an eco friendly company I discovered, and since they went through the trouble to mail me some of their products and since they also volunteered to give out not just one but THREE free giveaways, I have no choice but keep my word.
True indeed, ladies and tramps, I am nuts enough to start yet another pet photo contest. All I ask of you is this:
Show Us Your Ears
or
Show Us Your Hineys
?

This will be a combined pet photo contest once again. There will be no links posted on my blog since many of our contestants don't even have a blog. So, what do you say?

Oh, you want to hear about the giveaway! But you know me, I'm a tease and I love a good mystery. Stay tuned. A review and an announcement are coming your way soon. All I can say is that this particular eco friendly product works for mixed "cat dog" households, as for the rest of the pets, fear not, the contest will not only be limited to cats and dogs.

I look forward to your input as I try to figure out a way to make this contest easy and fun for you and me alike.

Pet Photo Contest Results

The Show Us Your Tongue Awards

And now, the moment we've all been waiting for . . .
the announcement of the Show Us Your Tongue Awards!!!

Boomer, the chihuahua, will start off the ceremony with our International Pet Photo Contest Anthem. Hit it, Boomer!

The 1st Yöghund Pet Photo Contest Awards go to:
(drumroll)

 Teutul

 Zeus

Sugar
Gizzy

Sophie

I'm also going to include two runners up: Stuart (spelled correctly this time, please excuse my already fired spell checker), and Wrinkles.
If the top 5 winners do not email me at twinkietinydog (@) aol.com with a full name and postal address, or for any reason they do not want to collect their award, I will be contacting the two runners up in the order posted.

Because I've been unable to contact our winners on time for this ceremony, allow me to accept the award on their behalf.

"Pets and pawrents! Thank you! I feel so humbled to receive my award and coupons. Oh, thank you again! In my wildest dreams, I never would have imagined (although I frantically prayed) that this could ever happen to my tongue. And to the other nominees, I want each of you to know how totally wonderful your crushing defeat will make my tummy feel.

You know, when they first told me I could enter the Show Us Your Tongue pet photo contest, I just had to take a minute and laugh about how many worthy and freakish tongues I would be competing against.

There are so many four and two legged (even three-legged) friends to thank. First off though, I'd like to thank you, the judges, their pawrents and furry friends. I would also like to thank Twinkie's colleagues, editors, family, and friends for writing her off, allowing this exquisite event to come together on such short notice. And finally, thank you to all the secretaries I have fired thus far. I couldn't have done it without you!
Thank you and good day!"

Today's ceremony has come to an end. We'll see you all at the after party.

This presentation was brought to you by Yöghund. If that ain't a dog treat!

Our Sabbatical

A private conversation between Twinkie, the teacup chihuahua, and her brindle chiweenie sister, Frankie, as overheard by the couch.

Twinkie: Hmm, I'm not sure about this sabbatical business, chiweenie.
I thought it meant more dog hikes. Move over.
Chiweenie: You move over.

Twinkie: How could you, Frankie! That was rancid!
Frankie: Must be those palm dates from our back yard. They were delicious.

Twinkie: We're going to need to fumigate the house.
Frankie: Whatever...

Twinkie: Do you think our furiends will remember us when we return? Our silly new blog person turned off comments, can you believe that?! If it wasn't for M, they'd still be off.
Frankie: Yeah, that sucks.

 Twinkie: I think I need a pawdicure.
Frankie: I need a nap.

Twinkie: I didn't sign up for this staycation. M better hurry up with all her business stuff.
Frankie: Aye.

Twinkie: At least we have the pet photo contest results and the winners' announcement to look forward to tomorrow.
Frankie: zzzz

Chiweenie Retriever

Frankie, my chiweenie sister, wants to be a golden retriever when she grows up. I told her that it's impossible because she's brindle, therefore not golden, and rather small for a retriever, but she never listens to me. With all these new designer dogs popping up all around us, who knows, maybe this small dog will get her wish.

Chiweenie pictures:

In anticipation . . .

"You're NOT a retriever!"

And finally. . .
Perhaps I was wrong. She may never be golden, but she's an excellent retriever.

We LIVESTRONG Today and Every Day

Today is LIVESTRONG Day all around the globe. I, Twinkie, the teacup chihuahua, along with my pack and family are joining our community in support of the fight against cancer. Humans and pets alike have fallen victims to the big C. Most, including my family, have had direct and not so direct encounters. In memory of our lost friends, including the furry ones, and in support of those currently fighting the battle, we're going YELLOW today.

Dress Yellow, think Yellow, post in Yellow! Shout it out and spread the word, 'cause today is LIVESTRONG DAY as it should be every day.

In memory of our friends and our furiends who didn't live to see this day, I urge the rest of us to FIGHT ON!

It is a war, furiends. It's the war closest to home. Support our troops and think positive. Be aware and be thankful. Be proactive!
